Ruth Jenkins - Executive Officer Oct 28, 2025
We’re looking for new members to help plan and run the next Mercian Collaboration Conference in 2026.
The Conference Group (CG) handles everything from booking speakers and venues to creating the programme. You can see who is currently involved via our CG Current Members page.
It’s a great opportunity for professional development and to connect with colleagues across the region. There are two people working on each role to share the workload and to bounce ideas off each other. You will also have the support of the friendly and collaborative team.
What’s involved:
- Working with another member of the group on a particular role. See Conference Group Roles for more information on the different roles.
- Monthly online meetings (1 hour) from November, increasing to fortnightly and weekly closer to the event.
- One in-person meeting at the venue to view the venue and to review speaker proposals.
- Helping to run the conference on the day itself.
Interested?
- Seek approval from your Line Manager or Director.
-
Send a brief Expression of Interest to Steve Bull, Mercian 26 Chair, at mercianconference@gmail.com as soon as possible and by Friday 7th November at the latest (please note that we may withdraw this opportunity in advance of 7th November if all the places get filled before then).
- Steve is happy to answer any questions you may have, so please do get in touch.
This opportunity is available to all library staff who work at a Mercian Collaboration member institution.
