About this event
This online Mercian Staff Development Group (MSDG) event focuses on Transitional Agreements (TAs) in Higher Education Libraries, supporting authors and scholarly publishing and access to content whilst responding to the challenges and opportunities associated with the read and publish model.
Transitional Agreements (TAs), also referred to as transformative or “read and publish” agreem “read” element of the agreement) and Article Processing Charges (the “publish” element), transforming the business model underlying scholarly publishing towards a fully open access model.

Presenters:

• Laurian Williamson (The University of Leicester) - Working with transitional agreements and transformative journals: an additional commitment to supporting and raising awareness of open access
• Julie Baldwin and Paul Cavanagh (University of Nottingham) - Transforming decision-making in the library: The University of Nottingham perspective on Read and Publish agreements

Library staff supporting researchers and scholarly publishing; resource acquisitions and collections teams managing content and TAs; staff wanting to learn more about open access
