Mercian Collaboration & Covid-19

An update on forthcoming Collaboration events, in the light of the current Covid-19 public health emergency.

As you will currently be all too acutely aware, we are all living through an unprecedented global public health crisis, which is impacting on how we all live and work. The Mercian Collaboration was founded on the principle of strengthening our members’ services, activities and staff through bringing them together. However, with current medical advice advising we all minimise infection risks through avoiding unnecessary travel and social interaction, it is clear for the time being we need to move aside from this.

As a consequence, the Chair and Steering Group have agreed that all physical Collaboration events are postponed for the foreseeable future, as of this date.

We hope some event organisers will be able to take steps towards exploring the shifting of planned events and interactions to the online environment. However, this may not be practical for some planned activities such as the library tours and visits. Please see the individual event pages or contact the organisers directly for updates on any planned virtual gatherings.

In the meanwhile, if you have any concerns or questions, relating to the Collaboration, please contact the Officer, any Steering Group member or your own Library Director. We will update the Collaboration website, mailing list and twitter account with more news and information as it becomes available.
